Good Business at the Land Trust
Everyone loves a heartwarming story, so it’s a thrill but not a surprise that the press is highlighting the bountiful recognition Southside Community Land Trust has received from Whole Foods. I was delighted to be part of the celebratory lunch up at WF’s regional headquarters: Look for the aqua shirt at the back right.
What is a surprise is the particular press venue: the Providence Business News. One “meta message” is that doing good can be a good way of doing well. Indeed, the more that Southside increases local access to healthy, affordable food via its community gardens, entrepreneur farms, and education programs, the more we all benefit. Another, that community building is everybody’s business.
However you parse it, $26 K in grants is a very good thing. Thank you, Whole Foods—and thank you, Providence Business News.
