Urban Garden (1 of 15): This unique city property has so much going for it.
Not least, the high walls that surround it are a blessed inheritance of the site's prior pre-War incarnation as a huge Italian Revival mansion. The original house itself is gone, but the tile-topped walls remain. This is the view out the garden door of the main house, to a rear wall with a fountain flanked by a pair of bas-relief sculptures.
Amazing indeed, which is why the mediocre horticulture is such a disappointment.
